Is there much dust during the process?

we use the best machines available on the market and we constantly hover after each stage is complete keeping the dust to a bare minimum.

I have gaps in my floor ?

we have many ways in which we resolve big gaps one is to use a resin and saw dust mixed together to fill the gap another way is we use a plastic strip which we put into the gap and fill using the saw dust and resin into the plastic forming a strong and affective solution, alternate to this we can use wedges which are angled peices of softwood that we place into the gaps then sand down and apply frech polish to match the colour of the floor.

What if my floor needs repairing?

Before we start sanding we will clean and look over the area we are sanding to see if any repairs are needed if you we either lift the boards up and re - nail them or  we can replace them.

What is the process in floor sanding?

At barfords flooring ltd we aim to get the very best out of your floors, the first stage is to clean the area and check for gaps or repairs, we then sand the floor we start of with a corse paper we will sand the floor with two different grades , we then sand all round the edges using a edger sander, once the floor has been sanded we then use a finishing sander this removes any marks on the floor and leaves the floor feeling smooth and clean, the next process is applying 3 coats of laquer or oil of you choice.

What if my floor is not level?

If we are laying a floor onto concrete and we find it is un level,we can use self level compound to bring your floor level so we can lay a wooden floor on top of it, we can also lay a liquid dpm (damp proof membrane) which we can apply on top of the self level compound or porse concrete this stops any damp rising and reaching the wooden floor.

How do i keep my floor clean?

We do offer a floor cleaning service which involves a water based solution and our rotary buffing machine which removes ground in dirt and grime, alternate to this you can either use a soft broom or hover to collect loose dirt or just a very light mop over the floor.
